“Save Our Opera House” received matching pledge

COLUMBUS — With the “Save Our Opera House” work well underway and donations to date totaling $700,000, the ele vator is approaching completion and other projects are starting.

As might be expected, new areas needing repairs surfaced as the elevator and other projects were being addressed.

So Columbus Historical Preservation Trust (CHPT) is thrilled to have an anonymous donor come forward with a $200,000 matching pledge!

When matched, that would bring the total raised to $1.1 million and allow the CHPT to do 80% of everything on the list and 100% of the most urgent needs. The Fall “Have Yourself a Tasty Little Holiday” auction will take place in November and proceeds from that along with all proceeds from the sale of “Seasons of Colorado County” book, which is now available for purchase at the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, will be matched.

So, now is a great time to contribute to the campaign.

The matching monies will be available to CHPT as the donations are received allowing them to start more projects sooner.

In the coming weeks more will be shared about the progress on all the projects and updates on the campaign matches.
