Texas Extension Education Week observed

LA GRANGE — Oct. 6-12, was proclaimed Texas Extension Education Week by Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller.

Texas Extension Education Association Clubs believe in strong families and education as a lifelong process. These clubs have been vital to the county’s volunteer base since 1934 and have a tradition of volunteer development opportunities.

The clubs’ volunteer hours totaled 347.5 this past year, translating to an $11,560 time value.

An annual scholarship was awarded to a county youth through the Nettie Mae Freudenburg Scholarship, and monetary support was provided to Fayette County 4-H and Deputy Santa. Donations also supported the County Child Welfare Board and CASA.
