FA Knights host annual cross country meet

BELLVILLE — Faith Academy hosted their 6th annual XC Meet Saturday, Oct. 12 in Bellville. There were 30 teams on the campus of Faith Academy where the meet was run. The meet grew substantially this year. We feel the growth was from us providing an all grass course that it is very spectator friendly and somewhat of a challenge. This was the final meet of the season.

Now teams will be competing in their postseason races, trying to qualify each week to the next level, all the way to the State meet.

The boy's varsity 5K had 73 runners. The race was won by Jackson Lee of Aggieland Homeschool. He posted a time of 16:44 for the 3.1 mile race. Aggieland also won the team championship followed by Frassati. Faith Academy 's junior Ethan Stegent placed fourth, running a 17:14.

The girl's varsity 3200 had 68 runners. Hazel Vowell from The Falcons Youth Track Club won the 2 mile race with an 11:56. The team championship was won by Aggieland Homeschool, followed by Logos Prep. Daniella Skardenni, junior from Faith Academy, finished 27th with a 15:11.

The boys junior varsity 5k was won by Miller Upton of Aggieland and the team championship was also won by Aggieland Homeschool followed by Houston Yes Prep SW. The girls junior varsity 2 mile race was won by Bethany Olson from The Fal- cons Youth Track Club. The first place team champion was Brazosport Christian and second was Aggieland Homeschool.

The junior high boys race had 93 runners and was won by Daniel Ely. Team champions were Southern Miles Club followed by Aggieland Homeschool. Everett Miglicco, seventh grader from Faith Academy came across the finish in 25th place and ran a PR 13:48.

The girls 3200 had 80 runners and was won by Heidi Helfrin from Aggieland. Faith Academy's Eva Broadbent, sixth grade, was 22nd and timed in at 16:43. The team championship was won by St Joseph Bryan followed by Aggieland.

Faith Academy will run the CURE - ageous 5K Oct. 19 in Fulshear, benefiting Breast Can cer.
