Colorado County Habitat for Humanity hosts 3rd

Annual Pumpkin Patch to benefit local families

COLUMBUS - Colorado County Habitat for Humanity an- nounces the return of its free 3rd Annual Pumpkin Patch on Oct.

26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 602 Walnut St. in Columbus.

All proceeds from the community- wide event will support Habitat's mission to provide de -

cent, affordable housing for local working families and senior citi zens in need.

This year's pumpkin patch promises to be even bigger and better, with a wide variety of pumpkins available for purchase and even more backdrops for photo opportunities for friends and families.

Attendees can expect a festive atmosphere with fun activities for all ages, including pumpkin decorating booths, face paint - ing and craft stations for kids, -

Fall-themed photo opportunities and Simply Jane tacos and other festival treats.

"We are thrilled to bring the community together again for this event," said Shalor Townzen, board president of Colorado County Habitat for Humanity. “The Pumpkin Patch is more than just a seasonal celebration; it's an opportunity for our com munity to support local families who are working hard to achieve homeownership. Every pumpkin and treat purchased, and every game played helps us fund our building projects and makes a

real difference in the lives of our neighbors."

“This year, we are really excited about a costume contest for volunteers and youth eighth grade and younger," said Doris

Klaus, board decretary of CCHFH. “Our volunteers are the

backbone of our organization and the youth is our future." This

year, CCHFH is blessed to be celebrating its 2nd Annual Scare crow Contest and also pleased to have Weimar and Eagle Lake businesses join the contest.

It is fun to see everyone's cre ativity in action. Anyone can vote from their favorite scarecrow via Facebook and the winner will be announced during the Pumpkin Patch.

At the Habitat Pumpkin Patch, attendees will have the chance to learn more about Habitat for Humanity's ongoing projects and volunteer opportunities.

This family-friendly event is a great way for the community to engage with Habitat's mission while enjoying a fun and festive fall experience.
