WEIMAR — Michael Krhovjak, a native of Weimar, and business owner Jesus Martinez exhibited remarkable acts of heroism on Sept. 13 during the serving of a warrant arrest by Weimar Police Corporal Frank Maier in the parking lot located in the 200 block of South Eagle in Weimar.

Maier endeavored to restrain a combative subject in the parking lot. Krhovjak and Martinez provided assistance to Maier in subduing the individual, who possesses a documented history of violence toward law enforcement.

The commendation highlights that, rather than averting their gaze as many tend to do in contemporary society, they proactively addressed criminal activity and took decisive action.

Their courage significantly impacted the situation, for which both Krhovjak and Martinez were honored with the Citizens Commendation Award on Oct. 17.
