BELLVILLE — Brahmas football won the district championship with a win vs Madisonville High School Nov. 1 at Brahmas Field in Bellville by _______________________ Madisonville jumped out to an early lead, then Bellville put their dominant run game on display in order to blow out the Mustangs for the rest of the game.

“We prepare like any other week,” said Bellville head football coach Grady Rowe. “Our kids really do a good job of focusing in. Taking it week to week. They knew this was a good football team. They’re really explosive on the offensive side. We felt like we could move the ball a little bit. Our guys did a great job up front and our backs did a good job hitting the holes and also blocking for each other.”

Bellville senior running back DD Murray had another big game with 197 yards and a _________________________ “Really blessed and staying humble,” Murray said on his success throughout his career. “I’ve been doing this since I was little, so it’s not really nothing to me. Just take it week by week.”

Madisonville scored the _____ __________ ___ ____ _____ with a 20-yard screen pass at _______________________________ quarter, then Murray responded with a 34-yard touchdown for Bellville to tie it at seven about nine minutes later.

The Mustangs followed that up with another screen pass for a touchdown on the next drive to make it 14-7, which was followed by a run for six yards and a touchdown from Murray to make it 14-14 at the ________________________ Murray added another touchdown for 11 yards on a pitch play as he ran down the Bellville sideline with 3:44 to play in the second quarter, leading to one more 11-yard run, this time on a counter hand off and a 26-14 lead at halftime for the Brahmas after two missed extra points.

The third quarter was all Bellville as they scored twice on a 12-yard run up the middle from Murray and another score from Murray through the passing game for 50-yards on a go route, all within about two minutes of each other early in the quarter to take a 4014 advantage at the end of the third quarter.

Bellville milked the clock in the fourth quarter and added their last score from Izak Hranicky for 10 yards at the 4:05 mark. Madisonville also scored on a pass across the middle with a minute and a half to go, still with Bellville cruising easily to a 47-21 victory.
