Number of area volleyball players earn AVCA Best & Brightest Awards
Schulenburg volleyball players Madison Kunschick and Avery Helms, as well as Taylor Morrow from Columbus and Samantha Marik, Kennedy Watson, and Emerson Novicke from Bellville have not only excelled on the court, but in the classroom as well as they’ve earned recognition for this year’s AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Best & Brightest Awards.
Kunschick made the first team and Helms made the second team, along with Marik, Watson, and Morrow making first team and Novicke on the second team.
The AVCA Best & Brightest Awards are given to senior student athletes who have earned at least a 3.5 unweighted or 4.0 weighted GPA during their junior year and also play at least 50% of the varsity team’s sets during their senior year.
This just adds to the positive news for Bellville, Columbus and Schulenburg volleyball as these teams are surging on and off the court.
