Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris in a resounding victory for the Republicans. Trump took the electoral and the popular votes and has been declared the U.S.
President-Elect.
In other not so dramatic fashion, local elections went as predicted and the Republicans kept their positions.
In Austin County, Ted Cruz (R) easily beat Colin Allred (D) for U.S. Senator. For the U.S.
Representative, District 10, Mi - chael McCaul (R) beat out There - sa Boisseau (D) in the U.S. Rep -
resentative, District 10 position.
Dianne Day kept the Austin County County Clerk position.
Jack Brandes was uncontested for Austin County Sheriff and Kim Rinn continues as the County Tax Assessor-Collector for Austin County. County Commissioner, Pct. 3 went to Leroy Cerny.
In a surprise to Republicans, Independent Wesley O’Brian Peschel became JP, Pct. 2.
Constable Pct. 1 went to Lance Johnson. Constable, Pct. 2 went to Dave Schuz, Constable, Pct.
3 went to Ronnie Griffin and James Clark was elected Constable, Pct. 4.
Propositions A, B, C, D, E, F and G passed with very low voter participation.
Sealy ISD, Proposition A was defeated with over 6,135 voting.
In Colorado County, Ted Cruz (R) took the Senate seat, with Colin Allred (D) trailing
well behind with only 21.95 per - cent. Michael McCaul (R) hand - ily beat Theresa Boisseau (D) for the US Representative, District
10. Rep. Joan Huffman retained her State Senate, District 17 seat,
as did Rep. Stan Kitzman in Dis- trict 85.
For District Judge, 25th Judicial District, Rep. Bill Old was reelected and Rep. Jessica Richard Crawford was reelected to another term for District Judge, 2nd 25th Judicial District.
Jay Johannes was not contested for Colorado County Attorney and Justin Lindemann, also uncontested, took over as Colorado County Sheriff.
Melissa Zajicek was elected County Tax Assessor-Collector, Shannon Owers was elected Colorado County Commission- er, Pct. 1, and Keith Ellis Neu endorff was elected as County Commissioner, Pct. 3. All were uncontested.
Other uncontested positions were Donald Clark for JP, Pct. 3, Richard LaCourse for Constable, Pct. 1, Lonnie Hinze for Consta ble, Pct. 2, Ivan Menke for Constable, Pct. 3 and Darell Stancik for Constable, Pct. 4.
In Fayette County, Ted Cruz (R) and Michael McCaul (D) easily retained their positions as U.S. Senator and U.S. Rep- resentative, District 10, respec tively. State Representative, District 85 belongs to Stan Kitzman.
James Herbich is the Fayette County Attorney, and Keith Korenek is retaining his position as Sheriff. The County Tax Assessor-Collector is Sylvia Mendoza, Jason McBroom is the County Commissioner, Pct.
1, and Harvey Berckenhoff is the County Commissioner, Pct.
3.
Constables are Willima Billy Roensch, Pct. 1, Roger Wunder lich, Pct. 2, Robert Chambers, Pct. 3 and Jason Strickland, Pct.
4. All county offices were un contested by Democrats.
