INDUSTRY — As a reminder to anyone with a TDA Private Applicator License, you need 15 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to re-certify every five years: two hours in Laws & Regulations, two hours in Integrated Pest Management, and 11 hours in the General Category. All TDA Commercial and Non-Commercial Applicator License holders need five CEUs yearly to re-certify with one hour in Laws & Regulations, one hour in Integrated Pest Management, and three hours in the General Category.
Anyone who needs hours should mark Friday, Dec. 13, on their calendar. The Beef & Forage Committee of Austin County will host a five-hour CEU Conference at Four County Auction Center at 11942 Hwy 159 in Industry. Registration will occur at 12:30 p.m., with the program starting at 1 p.m. The registration fee is $50. Pre-registration is encourted for the program so that sufficient program materials are available, but walk-ins are welcome. A meal will be served after the program with other refreshments during the program.
Program topics will include Pesticide Laws and Regulations Update from Dr. Don Renchie, Drift Management from Bryce MacDonald, Feral Hog Control & Bait Update from James Long, Invora Training from Dr. Stacy Hines, and Pasture Pest from Dr. Philip Shackelford. The five CEUs awarded have TDA approval for two L&R, one IPM, one Drift, and one General unit.
