Colorado County 4-H represented at International Invitational Dairy Judging Contest

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Colorado County 4-H members represented - Texas 4-H at the North American International Livestock Exposition Dr. George Heersche Jr. Invitational Dairy Judging Contest on Nov 9. in Louisville, Ky.

The team qualified for this event by placing second at the State 4-H Dairy Judging Contest held in Fort Worth in January. Team members include Jack Dudensing, Colten Koy, Lana Potter and Jase Rau. At the contest, teams can evaluate ten classes of dairy cattle and heifers and prepare and deliver four sets of oral reasons defending their placings of preselected classes.

At the awards ceremony on Sunday morning, the team was announced as the ninth-place team. Nineteen youth teams from across the country competed in this year’s event.

Additional awards by the team include the seventh High Point Team in Guernsey Cattle. The team would like to thank all of the local businesses and individuals who financially supported this trip through donations and calendar fundraising.
