Parents as Teachers celebrate National PAT Day

WEIMAR - Parents as Teachers (PAT) of Rural South Central Texas celebrated on Nov.

8 National PAT Day with a vibrant event themed “Dance & Donate through the Decades.”

Families, teachers and students joined in the festivities, embracing a disco ball theme that honored PAT’s lasting impact across generations.

Students were asked to decorate their own disco ball, creating a fun way to raise awareness about PAT’s essential role in the community. The PAT expressed their thanks to local schools for participating. A proclamation signed by Weimar Mayor Milton Koller and Schulenburg Mayor Connie Koopman further rec ognized PAT’s contributions to Weimar and Schulenburg.

Since 2002, PAT has supported more than 852 families and 1,303 children, helping families give their children the best possible start and supporting parents in their role as their children's first and most influential teachers.
