Breast Cancer Awareness proclamation in Austin County

BELLVILLE — The Austin County Commissioner’s Court recently issued a proclamation recognizing National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To further promote awareness, the Austin County Family and Consumer Sciences Advisory Board held its annual breast cancer awareness event entitled “Friend to Friend,” which highlights the importance of mammograms as a vital screening tool for early detection of breast cancer among women.

By raising awareness, the event encourages local women to prioritize their health and take preventive steps. This educational program emphasizes that early detection can lead to more effective treatment and better outcomes. The Austin County Family and Consumer Sciences Advisory Board appreciates the court’s recognition and acknowledgment of the importance of promoting community health to the women of Austin County and around the world.
