The Columbus High School football team has had a very successful year that is continuing throughout the postseason with a win against Yoakum High School last Friday by a final score of 56-42.
Big performers were quarterback Adam Schobel with three passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns to go along with a total of 284 yards combined, passing and throwing.
Grayson Rigdon had 146 yards and a touchdown to go along with Bryan Salazar and Camdon Pitchford, who each had two touchdowns.
The Cardinals have continued their success that they’ve had throughout the entire season and head coach Matt Schobel clearly has his team focused and playing great football.
Columbus is a heavy favorite to make it to the state championship, just as they’ve been for the entire year. Columbus will match up against Franklin High School Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at John Gupton Stadium in Cedar Park.
