WALLIS - The November Austin County Retired Teachers meeting was held at the Wallis Columbus Club Hall on Nov. 14. President Janet Montgomery reported on the District 6 Conference in Huntsville that took place on Oct. 30.
Don Allphin gave a legislative report. Barbara Hubenak reported on the children’s books given to Austin County public school students. Shawna Lozano of Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union presented the program.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12, at Tony’s Restaurant in Sealy, beginning at 11 a.m. A meal and a program will be given by HOA Meals on Wheels. All retired public school employees in Austin County are urged to attend and participate in a silent auction to raise money for scholarships. Items to be brought for the auction are baked goods and plants.
