Second Chance Emporium donates $126,000 to various groups

LA GRANGE — The Second Chance Emporium in La Grange recently donated $126,000 to various organizations to further their causes in helping the community.

Second Chance Emporium opened its doors as a resale store in La Grange in 1996 and has since helped many local human services organizations with the profits generated. Run by a coalition of churches, Second Chance Emporium has contributed over four million dollars to various service organizations and awards scholarships within Fayette County.

Although Second Chance Emporium gives out awards throughout the year, the group recently gave out a year-end amount.

The recent groups receiving the generosity of contributions are Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter - $35,000; Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation - $30,000; Fayette County Junior Livestock Show - $15,000; James Dick Foundation for the Performing Arts - $15,000; Children’s Advocacy Center $15,000; La Grange Citizens Police Academy - $6,000; Flatonia Rail Museum; Woven Ministry - $2,5000; and, Fayetteville City Park - $2,500.
