Double truck theft arrests

GARWOOD — While on patrol in the Garwood area, Colorado County Sergeant Zane Blaha was patrolling the area and observed a pickup truck pulling another one with a tow strap. Blaha noticed the pickup being pulled had no taillights.

The incident happened on Dec. 1 at 2:30 in the morning and it created a safety hazard, so he pulled the pickup over on Farm-to-Market Road 950, east of the Colorado River Bridge.

Upon investigation by Blaha, it was found that the pickup pulling the pickup was stolen out of Matagorda and the one being pulled had just been stolen from a location in Garwood.

Blaha arrested Taylor Lee, 31, of Angleton, for theft of property and Marcus Ray Nelson, 29, for theft of property and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Blaha was recently promoted to sergeant with the Colora- do County Sheriff's Office.
