LA GRANGE — The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their Christmas Opry on Monday, Dec. 16, at the KC Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.
This opry will be dedicated to and celebrating the life of Arthur Bosque, one of the December entertainers.
The Dujka Brothers, the duo of John and Mark Dujka are celebrating their 34th year in the entertainment business. They have appeared at numerous public and private celebrations, spreading their excitement for the traditional music that helped build and strengthen Czech and German communities in the state. Their music can be heard on polka radio programs nationwide and the Big Joe Polka show on RFD-TV. They have been recognized by the Texas Polka Music Association and 247PolkaHeaven.com for their recordings.
A good source says that ole Santa Claus will take time out of his busy schedule to come and visit the opry.
Allison Crowsen of Brenham, has been singing and playing around the area for many years. She started the Bluebonnet Opry in Brenham, and is a great accordion player and singer. She now runs the White Horse Tavern in downtown Burton with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. She recently has started doing a tribute to female singers such as Tammy Wynett, Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton.
Dennis Stryk of Schulenburg, is a lifelong resident of Fayette County who has been intrigued with country music for 70 years.
