FAYETTE COUNTY – Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported on Dec. 10 around 7:33 p.m. the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a structure fire on Farm-to-Market Road 153 near Pilchick Loop.
The Winchester Fire Depart- ment was notified and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, it was
reported that a trailer and garage were fully involved in a grass fire spreading toward FM 153 due to the north winds.
Deputies Chase Cedar, Chris -
topher Stansberry, Sgt. Ryan Meagher and Fayette County EMS Medic Unit 1 and EMS 3 supervisor also responded to the scene. Smithville Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene for assistance.
The fire was extinguished and brought under control with no reported injuries.
Emergency Management Coordinator Angela Hahn and Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie made contact with the Red Cross to provide assistance for the family who suffered a total loss.
