A driver and their vehicle smashed into the strip center in the 1400 block of Walnut in Columbus on Dec. 12, where the Dollar General is located. Although extensive damage was done to the building structure, there were no serious injuries and none of the workers inside were injured. The operation of Dollar General was not hampered by the accident. According to Columbus Code Compliance Officer Richard LaCourse, the building’s structure was checked to see if it was unsafe. However, the building is sound and there were no gas leaks.
