SHERIDAN — Christmas at Splashway in Sheridan doesn’t leave out the reason for the season. The live nativity scene and the story of Jesus’ birth are told to large crowds during the Christmas holidays event.

There were many fun floats to judge during the annual Eagle Lake Christmas Parade, but Rice Medical Center and Associates took the grand prize on Dec. 14. Second place went to the First National Bank of Eagle Lake; third place went to the Texas Challenge Academy; Colorado County Fair for Traditional Christmas category, Most Spirited goes to the Eagle Lake Intermediate, Most original and unique goes to Grinch Stole Christmas; Best Music goes to Roy's Sports Bar; Best Brand goes to Mosquito Authority and Best Lights went to Grandkids Christmas Clubhouse. The Grinch came out to create havoc on Dec. 14 during the Eagle Lake Christmas Parade. However, he couldn't resist the sweet smile of Lily Jones of Columbus and his heart grew three times bigger.
