ACCSS & BRIDGE to host Regional College & Career Fair

ACCSS & BRIDGE to host Regional College & Career Fair

SCHULENBURG — The Alliance for College & Career Student Success (ACCSS) in South Central Texas and BRIDGE (Building Resilience, Inclusion, Diversity and Growth thru Education) have a shared goal of seeing the rural communities they serve thrive.

A segment of this includes high school students graduating with a plan that charts them to their ideal career.

Additionally, BRIDGE and ACCSS envision these young adults being highly employable due to the preparation they have access to while in school.

Information is a critical piece of this process and having a more complete understanding of the careers available to them right here at home as well as the variety of trade schools, colleges and universities they have the opportunity to attend is information that will be available at the College & Career Fair to be hosted on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025.

This event is open to the public and will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Schulenburg Hall at 405 South St. in Schulenburg.

All high schools in the area are invited to bring their students, particularly 10th and 11th graders.

This is also an opportunity for young adults who have already graduated high school and are still considering their career path.

If a school has not returned from winter break, students and their families are encouraged to attend on their own.

It is not too late for businesses to sign up to have a table and share the career opportunities they offer. A registration link is available on the ACCSS Facebook page @ACCSS5 (https:// forms.office.com/r/bRcixqU7KV) or contact ACCSS director Susie Shank at 979-7435239 for more information.

ACCSS works to ensure that every student, regardless of background, has access to the opportunities needed to thrive in the pursuit of their educational and career aspirations by providing academic and career resources, guidance, and comprehensive support essential for students to attain post-secondary credits or workforce career credentials. Current ACCSS partners include Flatonia, Schulenburg, Weimar, Columbus, Fayetteville, and Moulton independent school districts.
