COLUMBUS — Twelve residential and seven commercial entries were judged for the best holiday decorating theme in Columbus, and the judges narrowed the field down to the final three in each category.
First place in the commercial category went to the Colorado County Farm Bureau at 1480 Walnut Street. Second place went to Potter’s Western Store at 2106 Hwy. 71 and third place was awarded to Connie’s Bail Bonds at 304 Radio Lane.
In the residential category, Zack and Amy Venghaus at 617 Milam Street, won first place.
Debi Obenhaus at 635 Milam Street, took second place, and Louis and Delores Menis at 1607 Rampart Street, took third place.
Each winner received a trophy and a cash prize sponsored by the Texas Country Title.
Colorado County Farm Bureau-Columbus took first place in the com mercial category of the Columbus Holiday Lighting Contest on Dec. 16.
