EAGLE LAKE — Sam Kana, pres- ident and chief executive officer of The First National Bank of Eagle Lake, will retire after 20 years at the bank and over 40 years in community banking.
Kana started his banking career in 1983. He joined The First National Bank of Eagle Lake in 2004.
Kana is a Sam Houston State University graduate, Class of 1982 and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree among many other compliance degrees.
Kana believes in supporting his community and has been active in numerous organizations, including the LCRA, as a regional council member, which he presently holds. He is an active member and past president of the Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club and a past president of the Eagle Lake Chamber of Commerce.
The Independent Bankers Associa - tion of Texas presented a board resolu tion honoring Kana. He was fetted with a retirement party hosted by The First National Bank of Eagle Lake on Dec. 17 with a come-and-go party.
Leslie Sedlock will be stepping into the chief executive officer position at The First National Bank of Eagle Lake.
