Faith Academy Knights football team. Let me start off by saying that it was an honor to coach this tight knit group of young men.

As for the state awards, here are the honors the Knights received at the state level:

1st Team All State: Travis Woodley-Sr (Linebacker)

2nd Team All-State: Jackson Dunn- Jr (Running Back); Wyatt Davis- So (Tight End); Josh Stark- Jr (Wide Receiver and Defensive Back); Travis Woodley-Sr (Utility back; Rushing and Receiving); and Dylan Callihan- Sr (Offensive Lineman) Congratulations on a great season. Proud of each of you for your hard work!!! After the state championship game was complete, two Faith Academy seniors were invited to the Senior All-Star game that took place Dec. 14 at Allen Academy in Bryan.

Travis Woodley and Dylan Callihan were asked to compete for the South, in their final football game.

Callihan filled in perfectly when the South team needed an extra center to help run the offense. He had some huge key blocks as well as a TD reception in the second quarter. He played through an extreme illness and was eventually pulled in the third quarter, against his will, by his coaches, Trey Carter and Kenneth Woodley.

Travis Woodley was invited as a linebacker, but it was quickly decided, with him being the best player on the field, they needed him on the offensive side of the ball, as well. Known for his explosive runs and excellent seal blocks on the outside, he rarely left the field until the South team pulled away. He led the South with 12 tackles, as well as some huge hits. Offensively, he sprung some fast runners for some long runs and TDs with his blocks. He also had a receiving TD in the third quarter. For his efforts, he was named Senior All-Star game MVP.

The South would go on to win the game 70-30.

I’m very proud of both of these boys, for their relentless pursuit of excellence and hard work. They represented our school and community very well and made a name for themselves, in the process.

Thank you for a year to remember and one the best in school history. Gotta have a Little FAITH. GO KNIGHTS!
