SCHULENBURG – Schulenburg police were made aware of a stolen ve-hicle headed westbound on Interstate 10 heading towards Schulenburg on Dec. 24 at about 4 p.m.
Officers saw the white Chevy van near mile marker 676 and attempted to
conduct a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Charlie
Smith Jr., 50, of Houston, exited the ve- hicle and fled southbound on foot across the interstate.
Officers caught Smith on Huser Blou levard. near Kemlon. The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Harris County.
Smith was arrested for unauthorized use of a vehicle and evading arrest.
