Columbus High band members score Region Honor band spots

COLUMBUS — Columbus Director of Bands Alexander Busby reported that 12 CHS band members recently made the Region Honor Band.

Nine students made a permanent spot and three made an alternate spot with seven students certifying for Area Band auditions this January.

The select CHS band members are: Yezenia Torres- Placed 15th chair out of 49 clarinets and is advancing to area.

Deacon Barten- Placed 21st chair out of 49 clarinets.

Alan Cervantes - Placed 12th chair out of 25 alto saxophones.

Blake Evans -Placed 4th chair out of 48 trumpets and is advancing to area.

Keller McClelland- Placed eighth chair out of 48 trumpets and is advancing to area.

Armando Hernandez -Placed 21st chair out of 48 trumpets and advances to area.

Kaitlyn Rutta- Placed ninth chair out of 17 euphoniums and advancing to area.

Robert Chavez -Placed fifth chair out of 26 tubas and advancing to area.

Casey Straw -Placed 14th chair out of 56 percussionists.

Makaila Mendiola -Placed first alternate, bass clarinet.

Cullen Dyer -Placed second alternate, horn.

Jaime Sanchez -Placed second alternate, euphonium and is advancing to area.
