The Rice High School boy’s basketball team is having a great year with a superb record and it’s looking like a team that can make a deep run in the playoffs. The Raiders have won 11 out of their last 12 games, which includes a streak of six consecutive wins. These wins were against teams such as Columbus, Tidehaven, Hallettsville, Palacios, Industrial, and Yoakum.
Rice is led by Coach John Hunter, who’s had good teams in the past, but this may be one of his best teams that he’s coached. The Raiders have always had good athletes, but they seem to be able to really put the pieces to the puzzle this year and finding ways to win.
Rice is a legitimate state tournament contender with great athletes and great coaching.
