WALLIS – The Wallis Knights of Columbus, #3793, held its 53rd Wild Game Supper on Jan. 24 in Wallis. The Peace Officer of the Year award goes to Austin County Deputy John Matthew Cano this year. The award goes to peace officers who step up and stand out in their chosen careers. Austin County

Sheriff Jack Brandes selects the officer who receives this well-earned award.

The Wallis Knights of Columbus did not disappoint the crowd, who enjoyed a great meal of wild game. The hall filled quickly, and everyone wanted to partic- ipate in the raffles and fundraisers of fered inside.

Every table was taken, and the lines to the wild game supper table were still filling up, but the kitchen crew kept food on the table and the line moving.
