BLOOD DRIVE SLATED

NEW ULM — St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm will hold a blood drive Sunday, Feb. 23 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sunday school building. Donors receive a free pullover shirt plus free meal at Black Bear Diner. Health benefit: free diabetes screening (A1c Testing) with blood donations.

REPUBLICAN WOMEN TO MEET

LA GRANGE — The public is invited to attend the Fayette County Republican Women General Meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club at 575 Country Club Dr. in La Grange. Lunch is available for $20. Guest speaker will be Bonnie Wallace, a conservative activist that has made it her life’s goal to get inappropriate sexual content out of public schools and public libraries. SENIORS TOGETHER SOCIAL SCHEDULE

Seniors Together, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to social- ize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m.

to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fellowship Hall at 201 Veteran’s Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and social gathering

MEDICAID INFORMATION SESSION SLATED LA GRANGE — A Medicaid attorney will be coming to speak to the Fayette County community about the Medicaid process and educate them on the ins and outs. This informative session is presented by Care Inn of La Grange Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the Randolph Recreation Center at 653 E. Pearl in La Grange. BEST LITTLE QUILT SHOW SET

LA GRANGE — The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild will present its 27th annual Best Little Quilt Show IN Texas Friday, Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 pm. and Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 pm. at the La Grange Community Center (KC Hall) at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. Admission is $10.The event includes quilts, vendor shopping, baskets, free books and magazines. There will be a donation quilt drawing, Vintage Diamonds pieced by CVQG members and quilted by Kath Babcock, Saturday, Feb. 22. KC TO HOLD FRIED CHICKEN FUNDRAISER INDUSTRY — The Industry KC will hold their annual Fried Chicken Fundraiser Sunday, Feb. 16 at the Industry Fireman’s Hall in Industry. The $12 donation meal, including handbreaded fried chicken (1/2 chicken), homemade buttered noodles and green beans, will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dine in or plates to go available. Other activities include silent auction, live auction beginning at 12:30 pm. and drawing after live auction. Knights of Columbus is a non-profit fraternal benefit society benefiting church, youth and community.

CVICA BARBECUE AND TRADE SHOW LA GRANGE — The Colorado Valley Independent Cattlemen’s Association of Texas annual barbecue and trade show fundraiser will be held Saturday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m. at the KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown in La Grange. Enjoy the trade show, barbecue meal, silent auction, raffle, live auction and cash door prizes. Chicken Fried Steak Dinner Drive-Thru LA GRANGE — The Hostyn Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Queen of the Holy Rosary No. 2282, will hold a drive-thru fundraiser Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the KC Hall in La Grange. The meal will consist of chicken fried steak, buttered noodles, mixed vegetable blend and white gravy (on the side) for $14 a plate.
