Drug trafficking bust impacts Mexican drug trafficking organization

HOUSTON — The Westside Narcotics Task Force (HIDTA), on Feb. 6, conducted an operation that resulted in the seizure of an extremely large amount of illegal narcotics, significant ly impacting the Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) operating in the area.

Over the last several weeks, the WNTF initiated an investiga- tion that led to the identification of a crystal methamphetamine source of supply operating in Houston.

During the course of the investigation, Task Force Offi cers were able to locate a “stash house,” which was being utilized by the DTO to distribute multi-kilogram amounts of crystal methamphetamine.

With the assistance of Texas DPS, DEA and the Harris Coun- ty Precinct 3 Constables Office, WNTF Task Force Officers ulti mately arrested a suspect.

They seized a total of 625 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from their “Stash house” in Houston.

The suspect was subsequently charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute crystal methamphetamine by the United States Attorney's Office.

rado County Sheriff's Office, Lavaca County Sheriff's Office, and the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
