NEW ULM - St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm will hold a blood drive Sunday, Feb. 23 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sunday school building. Donors receive a free pullover shirt plus free meal at Black Bear Diner. Health benefit: free diabetes screening (A1c Testing) with blood donations.

KC TO HOLD GUMBO TO GEAUX

FAYETTEVILLE - The Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Co lumbus No. 3168 will hold a to-go “Gumbo to Geaux” of chicken and sausage gumbo on Friday, Feb. 21 from 4 to 6:30 p.m.at St. John Parish Hall at 207 E. Bell St. in Fayetteville. The cost for 16 ounces of gumbo with rice is $15 per serving. For tickets, call 979-2496003 or contact any KC member.

DOMINO TOURNAMENT PLANNED

LA GRANGE — The La Grange Knights of Columbus will host a domino tournament, Straight and 42, on Sunday, Feb. 23 at the KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. Registration at 9 a.m., play at 10 a.m. A barbecue meal will be available for the players.

BEST LITTLE QUILT SHOW SET

LA GRANGE — The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild will present its 27th annual Best Little Quilt Show IN Texas Friday, Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 pm. and Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 pm. at the La Grange Community Center (KC Hall) at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. Admission is $10.The event includes quilts, vendor shopping, baskets, free books and magazines. There will be a donation quilt drawing, Vintage Diamonds pieced by CVQG members and quilted by Kath Babcock, Saturday, Feb. 22. YOUTH TO HOLD PORK STEAK FUNDRAISER GIDDINGS - The Holy Cross Warda Youth Group annual pork steak fundraiser will be held Sunday, March 9. Drive thru only from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Holy Cross picnic grounds at 600 FM 1482 in Giddings. Tickets, presale only by Thursday, Feb. 27, are $15 and may be purchased at Holy Cross Lutheran Church or La Grange Chevron. Baked goods will also be available for a freewill donation.
