2025 Annual Commissioners’ Appreciation Luncheon

The Extension Education Association (EEA) of Austin County hosted a special soup, sandwich, and dessert meal in February to honor the Austin County Commissioners Court and its dedicated community partners. This annual event recognized the commissioners court for their support and kindness. In addition, it celebrated the dedication and hard work of community partners.

This year’s theme, “Blazing the Trail with TEEA,” highlighted the strength and unity of our community. Most importantly, it symbolized the pieces of a quilt stitched together to create something meaningful and lasting. The group chose a quilt theme to visualize the care, commitment, and history woven into extension education and its impact on Austin County.

The event was organized by the Expansion Committee, chaired by Jessie Kokemor, Knellen Quinteros, and Mary Smentek of North Austin County EEA, with committee members Joan Buenger, Claudia Ciesle - wicz, Jinnie Kolojaco, and Jo Ann Reichle assisting in the planning.

Beyond sharing a meal, this gathering provided EEA members the valuable opportunity to engage directly with the commissioners court, discussing organizational achievements and high- lighting the benefits of extension education in Austin County.

Just as each quilt square plays a role in creating a complete design, the ongoing support of the Austin County Commissioners Court helps EEA continue its mission to serve and enrich the lives of local citizens.
