WEIMAR - Weimar hosted its first Go-Texan event and it was ace-high (first class) and everyone had a hog-killin’ time (a great time). Weimar made sure that it wasn’t just a lick and a promise (something done haphazardly) when it came to doing it up right for the Harris County Junior Sheriff’s Posse as the relay horse rode into town on Feb. 15 about high noon.
Cheerleaders, the Weimar school band and citizenry stood outside in the inclement weather to welcome the posse on its relay leg to Hallettsville.
After the ceremony of the hat and baton signing, the posse was treated to a hot lunch provided by the Weimar Volunteer Fire Department and the Weimar Encore Lions Club before heading hell bent for leather down the ol’ pony express trail.
