Reserve Deputy Ervin Paben retires after 67 years

BELLVILLE — Austin County Reserve Deputy Ervin Paben, was feted with honors from Austin County Sheriff Jack Brandes during a retirement party for Paben on Feb. 13, at the Austin County Sheriff's Office Training Center in Bellville.

A representative from State Rep.

Stan Kitzman's office presented Paben with an award while Kitzman was on the phone with Paben. Kitzman was on the floor tending to business at the capitol.

Paden was presented with his official Retired Deputy ID. by Brandes.

Trail ride representatives were on hand to pay tribute to the years that Paben served as the deputy overseeing and ensuring that trail riders were safe while on the public roadway. Numerous law enforcement, friends and family crowded into the classroom to celebrate this historic milestone. Paben started his role in law enforcement 67 years ago, with 32 years of that being with the Austin County Sheriff's Office.
