Spring is Stirring and So Are We!

IRECTOR With March just a few days away, we know that spring is stirring, even if our recent blast of cold air has frozen us up a bit! But it is Texas, after all, and the heat will come all too quickly!

Another thing stirring is the Magnolia Days Festival!

March 1st will be the reveal of the Music Line-up! Follow the news and latest updates on the Magnolia Days Festival’s Facebook Page and Instagram, or go to MagnoliaDays.org for more information. We are also searching for a few more sponsors. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in this historic annual event! Contact the Chamber office at 979-732-8385.

Our first Colorado County Regional Mixer - An After-Hours Chamber Networking Event – will be Tuesday, March 25, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Blake's Kitchen & Cocktails in Columbus. The Columbus Chamber has partnered with Weimar and Eagle Lake Chambers to bring all our members the opportunity to expand their networking base through these quarterly Mixers that will alternate between each city. We plan these events to help our members make connections to expand their business; members are invited to bring a guest and business associates.

A Big THANK YOU to ALL our Regional Mixer sponsors: Nikki Upson, Rehab Liaison, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Katy; 1st Texas Home Health; St. Christina’s EMS; Columbus Oaks Healthcare Community-Assisted Living Facility; and TruCare Living Centers-Columbus.

Beverly McMillan, Joel Usher, Alesha Woolridge, Jewel Carothers, and Debra Cummings were the team that put together Columbus' second Black History Month Banquet held on Feb. 15 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church’s Lighthouse. Columbus Chamber Board President Peggy Harrison and I joined the large crowd as we all enjoyed a program of guest speakers, celebratory dance, and a reenactment of a Martin Luther King Jr. speech given by Pastor Joel Usher, who also served as emcee of the evening and a delicious dinner. Thank you to everyone for all the work you put in to make the event a success. There is a nice write-up in the Feb. 19th Colorado County Citizen.
