RICHARDS — Law enforcement has recently located the escapee, Salvador Saucedo, 37, at a residence in the 5200 block of Trinity Street in Richards.
This may have been the home of the suspect’s girlfriend.
The suspect was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound while responders found him inside a burning residence.
He was convicted as a sex offender from Bryan.
His criminal history also includes arrest warrants out of Gonzales County for indecency with a child by sexual contact and a warrant for harassment out of College Station.
Saucedo escaped custody on Jan. 23 at a Bellville hospital by using hospital equipment to pick the handcuff locks and escaping from an out-of-county officer guarding him. He was able to elude a massive manhunt at the time.
Saucedo succumed to his self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced clinically brain dead on Feb. 19.
