The filing period for city and school district positions closed on Feb. 14, and only a few positions were up for contest by opposition. Elections are set for Saturday, May 3.
Austin County
Cities of Bellville, Sealy, San Felipe and Wallis canceled elections set for May 3 as there were no filings against the incumbents.

Colorado County
City of Columbus - Canceled elections were set for May 3 as no filings against the incumbents existed.
City of Eagle Lake - Seats held by councilmembers Rene Cooper, Chris Parker and Jim Wood are up for reelection. Candidate Randy Turner will be challenged to hold a position on the city council.
City of Weimar - Places 1, 3 and 5 are up for reelection. Stephen Helmcamp and Ronell Wilson will contest Place 3. Roy Ulrich, currently in Place 3, has decided not to run for reelection.
ISD of Columbus and Weimar - Canceled elections set for May 3 as there were no filings against the incumbents.
ISD of Rice has two positions up for reelection: Position 4, where Jason Pausewang runs unopposed, and Position 5, where Anthony Johnson opposes Bridget Belman.
Fayette County
City of Flatonia - Three seats are up for reelection, with six filing for those seats. Two incumbents and four others are seeking to fill three spots. Incumbents Joanye Eversole and Ginny Sears face off against Annie Pryor, Jeff Brazil and Alexander Ross Hernandez.
City of La Grange - Canceled elections set for May 3 as no filings against the incumbents existed. Ward 4, with Councilmember Chris Jernigan as the current councilmember, decide not to run again and Derek Smith will be the new councilmember for Ward 4 as there were no other filings.
City of Schulenburg - Position of mayor, currently held by Connie Koopmann, will face Mike Ohnheiser.
ISD of La Grange - Canceled elections set for May 3 as there were no filings against the incumbents.
ISD of Flatonia- Canceled elections were set for May 3 as no filings against the incumbents existed.
ISD of Schulenburg - Stephanie M. Prihoda and Lisa Goodlander are challenging two at-large positions against Joel Blansitt and Shannon Hollas.
