Music at the courthouse

FAYETTEVILLE — The Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series, presented by Arts for Rural Texas, returns this March with live acoustic shows every Tuesday evening on the historic courthouse square in Fayetteville.

Music has played a significant role in the history and character of Fayetteville, and the historic courthouse and town square have served as a family-friendly venue for many community and music events over the years.

These elements come together in the biannual Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series.

“The lineup for this March is very exciting,” Mike Stroup, Fayetteville's mayor, said. “Fayetteville residents and people from surrounding communities really look forward to these Tuesday night concerts at the courthouse. ARTS does a great job of procuring excellent musicians of various genres,” Stroup continued.

Ashley Monical kicked off the month on March 4.

On March 11, Tina Wilkins, joined by Ron Flynt, will provide the music.

On March 18, Josh Grider, along with Kristi Grider, will perform.

Award-winning songwriter Susan Gibson will close out the series on March 25.

The event is partially sponsored by Fayette County Record, Fayetteville Propane, Martin Payne, Mary and Evan Quiros, and several other local residents of Fayetteville.
