Bellville High School baseball alum and current Major League Baseball pitcher Lucas Luetge is now with the Boston Red Sox for the 2025 season after stints with the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, and Atlanta Braves. Luetge has kind of bounced around from the minor leagues back to the pros, but he's proven he can hang in the big leagues as the Yankees used him a lot as a reliever a couple years ago.
Luetge was in the Braves minor league system for a while and was recently picked up by the Red Sox this past
year. Luetge has elite stuff as a
southpaw reliever and he was part of a combined no-hit ter with the Seattle Mariners back in the 2012 season. Lu -
etge also knows the Yankees hitters well since he was a former player on the roster, so he’ll have an advantage facing New York hitters during one of the biggest rivalries in all of sports.
