SEALY KC LENTEN FISH FRY RETURNS SEALY — The Sealy Knights of Columbus announce the return of their annual Famous Lenten Fish Fry, starting Friday, March 21 at the Sealy Columbus Club Hall at 1310 Hwy 90 West in Sealy, and will continue every Friday during Lent. Serving drive-thru only, from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m., for only $13 a plate. Cash or most major credit cards accepted. Menu will include fried fish, French fries, pinto beans, coleslaw and hush puppies. Proceeds will benefit Sealy KC programs.

EL SENIOR CITIZENS DANCE TO START BACK UP

EAST BERNARD — The Eagle Lake Senior Citizens Dance will be joining forces with the American Legion Hall in East Ber- nard. Blue Denim will provide the music for the first dance to be held April 4 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The dance will remain the same format including pot luck and door prizes. Tickets are $10 per person. The Red Ravens are scheduled for June 6 and Czechaholics for Aug. 1. Everyone is invited.

FRELSBURG KC PLANS FISH FRYS

FRELSBURG — The Frelsburg Knights of Columbus Council No. 5157 will sponsor its Friday Night Fish Frys, March 7-28, and April 4 and 11, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Diamond Center in Frelsburg. The catfish meals, dine in or plates to go, are $15 per plate and fish by the pound $15 per pound. Homemade des - serts will be available by St. Anne's Altar Society. Raffle tickets will be available.

CHESS TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD LA GRANGE — The 3rd Annual Habitat Gambit Chess Tour- nament benefiting Fayette County Habitat for Humanity will be held Saturday, March 29 at the Randolph Recreation Center located at 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange. There will be three rounds (G15). BYO chess clock or phone with chess clock app. Primary division for ages 5-16 and senior division for ages 17 and up. This is a non-sanctioned event so no rating will be awarded. Entry fee is $10 which is payable at check-in from 9 to 9:15 a.m. on March 29. Pre-registration is recommended as space is limited. CHAMPS FISH FRY SET FOR MARCH 21 SEALY — Charitable Heroes Achieving Memorable Performances (C.H.A.M.P.) Friday Fish Fry will be held Friday, March 21 at Sealy Lifebridge Church at 2162 FM 2187 Rd. in Sealy. The meal will be served from 4:30 to 7:15 p.m. The drive-thru only plates are $12 each.

SCHULENBURG SAUSAGEFEST PLANNED SCHULENBURG — The 10th annual Schulenburg Sausagefest will be held Saturday, April 5 from 11:15 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. in downtwon Schulenburg. The event will start at 11:15 a.m. with the shortest parade in Texas. Live music will be available all day featuring Doc West Music, The Czechaholics, and Mark Halata & Texavia. Other activities include arts and crafts, children’s activities, grand march, fun run, American Legion Black Bean Motorcycle Ride, hog-calling contest and sausage-toss contest. There will also be great food, dancing in the street, cold beverages and biergarten. The event is free. HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE SET

LA GRANGE — A Hunter Education Classroom Course will be held Saturday, March 22 at the Texas AgriLife extension of- fice located at 255 Svoboda Ln., Room 134 in La Grange. This course is designed for novice or young hunters, ages nine years and above. The course covers the important aspects of firearm and hunting safety, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation. All materials are provided. The Hunter Education Classroom Course lasts a maximum of six hours of classroom instruction. This time does not include registration, breaks, test administration and cer- tifica- tion card distribution. This course is offered across the state year round and taught by certified volunteer instructors. The fee for the certification is $15. Some instructors may apply additional charges for the class, such as range or facility fees. Pre-registration is required. FC REPUBLICAN PARTY TO MEET LA GRANGE — The Fayette County Republican Party will hold its first quarter meeting on Monday, March 24 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building at 255 Svoboda Ln. in La Grange.

SENIORS TOGETHER SOCIAL SCHEDULE Seniors Together, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to so- cialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fellowship Hall at 201 Veteran’s Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and so cial gathering.
