AUSTIN – Texas Governor Gregg Abbott announced on March 20 his de- cision to appoint First Assistant District Attorney Brandy Robinson as Austin County’s new Criminal District Attorney. The appointment requires Senate confirmation before it takes effect. In the meantime, Travis Koehn will continue to serve as district attorney until Robin- son's appointment is officially confirmed by the Senate and she takes the oath of
office. "The appointment and confirmation process has taken slightly longer than we initially expected due to the legislature being in session it may take a few more weeks before her appointment can be confirmed," Koehn explained. I offer Ms. Robinson my sincerest congratulations on her well-earned appointment to this position, Koehn added. “I look forward to her taking over the position as soon as confirmation is complete."
'I am deeply honored to accept this appointment and the opportunity to continue doing the work that I love in the county I love,' Robinson stated.
'Since 2005, I have dedicated my legal career to helping ensure the safety of Austin County citizens. I'm grateful to everyone for their support and encouragement during this process and through my career,” Robinson said.
