The Columbus Country Market hosted its first market of the year on March 29 on the Colorado County Courthouse square in Columbus, and central to this event was a tribute to Billy Kahn, a Columbus resident and all-around good guy. Kahn had been a pillar of this event and an ever-present force around Columbus for many years. He was counted on to man the information booth, make announcements over the PA system and help vendors coming and going. A small table displayed memories of Kahn - his first Farmers' Market apron, a jaunty hat and, of course, mismatched socks. Adding a special note was the hand-carved portrait of Kahn, created from the heart and the skill of noted artist Dan Pore. Attending the tribute to Kahn, is his brother, Chuck Kahn, left, and Pore.
