Flatonia track athlete Zachary Charanza threw his way to a gold medal in the discus event during the 2A area 27 and 28 meet April 10 at Flatonia.
Charanza threw for a mark of 167-6 and teammate Henri Vin -
cik grabbed the bronze medal at a 123-0 mark.
Other area athletes were Tav-
ondrick Ellison from Schulen -
burg with a mark of 120-0.
Both of these teams are
known for making it far come districts, regionals, area, and
state and these teams have made
appearances at the final stretch in Austin for the state champion -
ships. Flatonia and Schulenburg are
likely to have athletes that show
up to state again as they've done so for consecutive years now.
