COLUMBUS — The Columbus Garden Club members invite everyone to their annual plant sale Saturday, April 26 at Brookshire Bros. on Milam Street in Columbus. The ladies really enjoy meeting other members of the community who are plant enthusiasts and enjoy sharing information about plants.
As usual, there will be plants to suit your gardening environment. There will be plants that thrive in the sun or those that love the shade. There will be the tried, true, and trusted perennials and also the exotics. It looks like there will be quite a few plumerias (different colors).
Many in the community know that garden club ladies are also very good cooks and bakers. They will have cookies, cakes and pies available for purchase. And there will be casseroles that are frozen that you will want to take home for your convenience after a busy day of gardening.
Columbus Garden Club keeps busy maintaining gardens around our community, encouraging everyone to Keep Columbus Beautiful, and supporting high school students with annual scholarships.
The club will again have a wagon that they call the Scholarship Wagon that will be full of gardening supplies that you may win.
The club has been having a plant sale at Brookshire Bros. since 1992.
