Colorado County Fair Association holds fundraiser

COLUMBUS — The Colorado County Fair Association held its annual fundraiser on April 12 at the Colorado County Fairgrounds in Columbus, ben- efiting the Junior Fair Board members. Junior fair board members served a well-attended crowd mouthwatering boiled shrimp and sausage with corn and potatoes. Grilled chicken was also available.

The social began at 5 pm. with the meal served at 7 p.m. An enthusiastic crowd bid up the items offered during the live auction which started at 7 p.m.

A smorgsborg of silent auction items were displayed and a steady stream of stalking bidders silently outbid with each stroke of the pen.

The entertainment was not just from the music performed by local musician Larry Waddell but by people-watching as they dove into the mounds of food

said, "Uncle."

The fundraising dollars go to scholar- ships for the Junior Fair Board members including high school youth of Colorado County while encouraging them to be part of all events that support the coun -

ty fair as well as serving the community throughout the year.
