Applications for the 2023 Bluebonnet Master Gardener Intern Class are still being accepted and will be held in La Grange. For anyone interested in participating in the Master Gardener training program, the deadline for signing up is Thursday, January 19.
There is a fee of $200 per participant, which will cover the cost of materials and defray speaker expenses.
An application must be completed and turned in with payment to be considered registered. Class size is limited. The classes will be held on Thursday mornings beginning on Jan. 19 and continuing through April 20.
The Master Gardener program is a unique opportunity for individuals who are interested in horticulture and serving their community.
Master Gardeners are trained in all facets of horticulture such as plant & soil science, entomology, plant pathology, landscape design, vegetable gardening and much more.
Upon completion of their training, Master Gardeners will be required to give at least 50 hours of volunteer service time in their local community to receive the title of “Master Gardener.”
Those individuals who successfully receive the title of Master Gardener will have their state and local member dues paid for the first year of membership.
An open house will be held at the Texas A&M AgriLife Exten- sion Office in La Grange on to day (Thursday, Jan. 12) from 10 a.m. until noon.
