HOSTYN — A $1,000 donation was recently deposited into the Matching Funds Campaign account at Fayette Savings Bank for the benefit of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn, rebuilding fund by the Moulton Knights of Columbus Council #3244.
Donations over $5,000.00 can be dedicated to the “matching side” of the campaign where they are used to match regular donations from the public, enabling them to be doubled.
At last count, $115,000 has been donated to the “matching side” of the campaign.
Donations are still being accepted and may be made at any of the four Fayette Savings Bank locations in La Grange, Flatonia, Schulenburg or Weimar. The Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church was totally destroyed by an explosion and fire the morning of June 9, 2022.
The parish is happy to report that debris from the site has been cleaned up, and once it’s known what the settlement from insurance will be, they can proceed with plans to rebuild the church.
