Although Small Business Season began on Nov. 1 and ended on Dec. 31, 2022, which highlights small businesses prevalent in every town. Small businesses provide jobs, support their communities by donating to the town's non-profits, its youth orga nizations and contribute to local events.
Each small business holds its own cash reserves in case of a downturn or setback, such as the recent pandemic lockdowns. These cash reserves are generally less than a month worth of operating expenses. With the cost of goods to purchase, which is the highest in 40 years, the supply chain problems and the employee shortage, small businesses need more than one day for the community to show its support of its small businesses.
It’s tempting to go to the big box stores. Just remember that the small business that just closed its doors could have stayed open if it was supported by the community it supported.
