COLUMBUS — The Colorado County Wildlife Management Association (CCWMA) held its annual banquet and meeting March 18 at the Columbus Hall in Columbus. The program for this year centered on Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) with Allan Cain, leader for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Whitetail Deer Program for the state.
A catered meal and refreshments were provided. Along with the program and meal, winners of the 2022 Alvin Emmel Memorial Whitetail Contest were announced.
First place winners were Julius Bartek in Division 1 with a score of 149 7/8 with an inside spread of 16 2/8 with 12 points out of the Harvey Creek WMA, Robert Henneke in Division 2 with a score of 135 2/8 with an inside spread of 14 3/8 with 11 points out of the Central WMA, Hunter Morgan in Division 3 with a score of 134 7/8 with an inside spread of 16 1/8 with 11 points out of the Northeast WMA, Harold Wilcoxen in the Archery Division with a score of 136 6/8 with an inside spread of 13 7/8 with 11 points out of the Colorado River WMA, Kaleb Schimcek in Youth Division with a score of 134 5/8 with an inside spread of 15 4/8 with 11 points out of the Sandy Creek WMA.
Colby Rainosek takes first in the Big 8 with a score of 132 5/8 with an inside spread of 15 2/8 with 8 points out of the Sandy Creek WMA.
