SEALY — The tiny little chefs at Sealy Elementary School have completed their gardening program. Early Childhood-Learn Grow Eat Go, has exposed these participants to many wonderful opportunities over the last two months.

The students have learned a plethora of information which has given each of them a new hobby that they can truly appreciate and enjoy forever! Over these last couple of weeks, they have enjoyed learning about fruits and flowers.

In those lessons, they each had the chance to participate in a flower lab, make sunflower seed heads, as well as growing and planting their very own vegetable transplant.

In addition, they continued to increase their knowledge and skills in the kitchen by making a strawberry salad with red leaf lettuce and homemade banana chocolate pudding!

“What a fabulous ride this has been! It has been a sincere pleasure watching these youngsters grow by leaps and bounds in this gardening program. Watch out Sealy because there are 16 new little gardeners on the horizon! Special thanks to Andrea Ford for doing such a great job with these outstanding students!” said Valerie Engelbrecht, Austin County AgriLIfe secretary.
